Case Study — 2026
Web design and development for a private, appointment-only fine art tattoo studio in Enschede — built to match the quality of the work it showcases.
OG Tattoo is a private, appointment-only fine art tattoo studio. There's no walk-in counter and no need to compete on volume — the entire proposition rests on the quality of a single artist's work and the trust a prospective client places in them before ever sitting in the chair.
The brief was to give that practice a web presence that felt like a fine art portfolio rather than a generic local-business template: showcase the range of the work, explain the appointment-only model as a feature rather than friction, and make it easy to start a conversation about a booking.
My role covered the full build — UX and visual design, front-end development, and the booking flow — for a five-page site: Home, About, Work, Studio, and Contact.
The design stays deliberately out of the way of the photography — a near-black background, a single warm accent colour, and a restrained type system so that full-bleed shots of finished pieces carry the page rather than compete with it.
Navigation was kept to five clear destinations with a persistent "Book Now" action, so the path from browsing the portfolio to starting a consultation is never more than a click away. A click-through lightbox lets visitors view any piece at full size without leaving the page.
Everything was built mobile-first from the start — the featured grid, gallery, and booking form all needed to hold up on a phone, since that's how most prospective clients would first find the studio through Instagram or search.
"I don't apply tattoos —
I translate lives into images that last forever."
The finished site gives OG Tattoo a professional, cohesive online presence that reflects the studio's positioning as a fine art practice. The portfolio is organised and easy to browse across styles, the booking model is explained clearly instead of feeling like a barrier, and every page leads back to a single, obvious next step: get in touch.
Structured business data, descriptive alt text, and lightweight, framework-free code were built in from the start — supporting search visibility and fast load times without adding maintenance overhead for a solo studio.
